ECHO Pediatric Emergency Unit
SIUH marks centennial at Prince’s Bay campus; E.C.H.O. Pediatric Emergency Unit opens with ribbon cutting ceremony
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — To marks its centennial year, Staten Island University Hospital hosted two celebratory events at their Prince’s Bay Campus: The observance of their 100th anniversary and the ceremonial ribbon cutting of the new Emergency Children’s Help Organization (E.C.H.O.) Pediatric Emergency Unit.
E.C.H.O., an organization founded by Sebastian Angelico in 2008, raises funds to be used to promote the welfare of children whose futures are grim due to a serious emergency, medical or other condition. E.C.H.O. also offers monetary assistance to help ease the child’s family’s financial burden.
“It is with great pleasure that today we celebrate the E.C.H.O. Pediatric Emergency Unit,” said Angelico. “This vision has now become a reality. This Emergency Unit will literally serve thousands of children for years to come. I would like to thank SIUH Northwell Health, our Board of Directors, staff and donors for their dedicated support.”
In closing, Dr. Ardolic spoke heartfelt words, “Someone was looking out for us at this time. So thank you to Sebastian Angelico and E.C.H.O. And thanks to all of you for being here.”
