On a typical summer day at Marvin’s Camp, campers do more than play basketball or go for a swim.
At the Jewish Community Center’s (JCC) six-week specialty camp for young people living with developmental disabilities, participants ages 6 to 21, have spent their season learning new skills at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds on Manor Road.
This year marks a first for Marvin’s Camp: Non-ambulatory campers are able to participate in all camp activities. Four wheelchair-bound campers are among the 135 youths enrolled for the summer.
