We previously noted that The Emergency Children’s Help Organization (E.C.H.O.) once again stepped to the plate and created a Staten Island Emergency Relief Fund to assist families with children 18 years of age or younger who were affected by the devastation incurred by the horrendous superstorm that enveloped Staten Island two weeks ago.
At this writing E.C.H.O. has received more than 350 applications from Staten Island families who are in dire need of assistance.
Thanks to E.C.H.O. supporters, the organization has secured $150,000 to assist 300 of those families, while some are on a waiting list until further funds are received. And E.C.H.O. expects that more and more families will hear about the effort as the weeks go on.
