A non-profit helps a South Shore Hospital raise funds for an important new addition.
Representatives from The Emergency Children’s Help Organization or ECHO, presented a $200,000 donation to Staten Island University Hospital’s South Site Friday.
The money will go towards a new $1.5 mil pediatric emergency treatment area.
The non-profit has pledged to donate even more and reach a total contribution of $500,000.
“As medicine has advanced, the mixing of adult care, geriatric care and pediatric care just doesn’t fit anymore,” said SIUH Doctor Theodore Strange.
